GO! Day Community Mission Project
We believe we are called to serve, to be part of something bigger than ourselves. GO! Day is our way of going into our communities of Green, Manchester, Clinton, and Canal Fulton to touch people’s lives through service projects for neighborhoods, schools, parks, and those in need.
Started in 2015, MCC has made a difference in the lives of people in our area neighborhoods. Many have been single moms, the elderly, those with disabilities, and people in our own church family.
We also help local businesses, our schools, and parks. And we simply do acts of kindness for our local police, fire department, and others. From painting houses, pavilions, to yard work, small repairs, and baking, we find many opportunities to show the love of Jesus in tangible ways. Just talk to someone who has participated and hear how they helped and the impact it had on them and the recipients!
GO! Day takes place each year on a Sunday. We have a shortened service at 9:00 AM and then we gather into our teams which have been given their assignment and addresses to serve. Those who have signed up are contacted beforehand to see what type of jobs they wish to participate in. Teams are given information in advance so they will know which team they are part of, what to expect, and what to bring. We generally serve at our projects until approximately noon or so. Water and disposable work gloves are also provided.

This is a family-friendly outreach and children are welcome to join in. This is a great way to introduce them to meaningful service. There are also projects that can be done at church for those who may be unable to go into the community.
